Hi folks!
It’s been a minute since I have posted a book unhaul post and because I unhauled a series just this weekend I thought, why not bring you another post of the books I unhauled lately. These are going to be all the books I unhauled this year. The way I did it back in the day is I have 3 categories: sold, swapped and gifted. I’m not sure how popular it is in other countries but it is actually quite a popular way in Hungary to get rid of books by swapping them for one that you have on your TBR. Without further ado, let’s see all the books I unhauled this year.
Sold

The first book I ended up selling this year was Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard. I unhauled the first book last year because I lost interest in the series quite some time ago and didn’t want to keeping an unfinished series. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to get rid of the second book but thankfully someone took it off my hand this year.

Next up I sold Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs. To be completely honest with you all, I did decide to get rid of my books by Ranson Riggs after that whole fiasco with the NFT thing he and other authors were part of. Last year I actually gifted Map of Days to one of my current flatmates and this year I was able to sell this copy of mine. I actually still own the first book and the book with the short stories, Miss Peregrine’s Journal for Peculiar Children, but I am looking to unhaul these ones too.
I finally, finally got rid off my copies of the first three Assassin’s Creed books by Oliver Bowden. I have a review up on my blog of the first book, Renaissance. Spoiler alert: I hated it. And I hated the second and the third books as well. But I just couldn’t unhaul these books. However this year finally a sweet, sweet person from Twitter took them off my hands.

And last but not least, I got rid of my entire Vampire Knight by Hino Matsuri, all the 19 volumes of it. To be honest I have been very disappointed with the ending of the series ever since I read it back in the day (for years now actually). And thinking back… The incesty story line is really… a no for me. It was a no for me even back then (I actually quite disliked Kaname), but I really just did not want to own this series anymore. Instead I want to put this money that I got for the entire series towards collecting other manga series like D. Gray-Man, Jujutsu Kaisen or The Case Study of Vanitas.
Swapped

Last but not least on the list of unhauled books I have Nevernight by Jay Kristoff. The more I’ve seen of Kristoff on social media the less sympathy I felt for him, especially with how he reacted to criticism on more than one occasions. And to be honest, back in the day when I read Nevernight, I kind of got swept up in the hype and gave it 4 stars, even though I think it’s more of a 3 stars book for me. I’m definitely not planning on getting more books by him so it was just the right decision for me. I swapped this book to a copy Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman.
So these are all the books I unhauled this year so far. I haven’t gifted any books so far, most of my friends’ birthdays are later in the year, so I might gift away books later on. I actually have quite a list of books I want to get rid of still, but haven’t gotten around them. I might update you all at the end of the year if I unhaul a significant amount of books by then. Are there any books you have unhauled recently? If yes let me know what books were those in the comments down below!
