The Ace of Shades Book Tag, #Doves edition

Hi folks!

Here I come with a really cool book tag! I’m part of the street team for Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody and my fellow team members put together this very cool tag that I’m more than thrilled to share with you all. The creators are Min and Katie, and you can read Min’s answers for the questions here. I also recommend to check the girls’ blogs out! 🙂

1. Ace of Shades takes place in the very mysterious, very dangerous City of Sin. Name a fictional city with a personality of it’s own!

  • For this very first question the first thing that popped into my mind too (just like to Min) was definitely the city of Weep from Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor. If you read the book you know what I’m talking about and if you haven’t… Read it!

2. The City of Sin is home to three ruthless gangs: the Irons, the Scarhands and the Doves. Tell us about your favorite fictional criminal family/gang!

  • That’s easy and those who read my blog should know the answer for me is the gang from Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I just love them, I love everything about that duology.

3. Enne and Levi are about to be thrown into a deadly game… Name your favorite book in which the characters must play with, and for, their lives.

  • Not a really popular book, but definitely one of my favourites, Battle Royale by Koushun Takami. I mean, a whole class get thrown onto an island and have to fight their classmates or they will be the one killed. The Hunger Games has a similar topic, but I like Battle Royale more.

4. The Doves are a gang of assassins… What book you’d kill to have in your hands right now?

  • It’s either The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo or Gemina by Aime Kaufman and Jay Kristoff, OR The Cruel Prince by Holly Black.

5. The City of Sin is full of people with dark and complicated pasts. Name one book or book series you used to like, but don’t anymore.

  • Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. I’ll just leave it like this.

6. With complicated pasts abound, we can find many… burnt cinnamon rolls, so to speak. Name a character that has prickly and tough exterior, but is actually a sweetheart deep down!

  • Suddenly the only one that popped into my mind was Kanda, from the manga D. Gray-Man by Katsura Hoshino. He acts all tough and mean but deep down he is truly a sweetheart, even if he tries very hard to hide it from everyone around him.

7. Not only anti-heroes live in the Ace of Shades world! In New Reynes, one can find plenty of villains as well. Which bookish character do you just love to hate?

  • I actually have a hard time coming up with an answer because I tend to love the villains or just loath them. Hmm maybe there is one, it’s Bellatrix Lestrange from Harry Potter. Yeah, she is a character like this.

8. You, much like our main character Enne’s mother, went missing in the City of Sin. The main character from the last book you read is the one looking for you… How screwed are you?

  • My last read was the 16th volume of D. Gray-Man. The main character of the story is Allen Walker. I think I’m not all that screwed. Allen always did his best to help everyone so I’m sure I’d be relieved to hear he was the one resquing me.

So this was the tag, if anyone wants to do it take it like I tagged you! 🙂
